This trait is important if you want your business to be successful.
To continue our discussion on traits that make agents highly successful, a lot of people ask me, “What’s the one trait that leads to success?” There is one trait I have in mind, but there’s not really a word for it. I call it “proactive resourcefulness.” It might take me a bit to describe it, but hopefully, you’ll have a better idea of what it takes to succeed after I explain that term.
Proactive resourcefulness means working with a premeditated, intelligent plan while finding a way to solve obstacles along the way. The people who are like this don’t see every obstacle as a roadblock; they think of how to go under, over, or around those obstacles and get things done. The only word that comes close is enterprising, but that means having initiative and being resourceful.
Resourcefulness is the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome obstacles. You can’t stop dead whenever you encounter a problem. Resourcefulness also means being independent and tenacious. People are not going to hold your hand and solve everything for you, and you need to be determined to keep pushing through obstacles.
“You cannot be great without proactive resourcefulness.”
Proactive resourcefulness boils down to being premeditated and just not being stopped. In real estate, you are the CEO of your own business. I see so many agents out there who need someone to hold their hand all the time, but you can’t run your business that way. You can’t be a victim; you need to use your creativity, rely on yourself, and believe in yourself.
Hopefully, you understand a bit more what proactive resourcefulness means because you cannot be great without it. If you have any questions, feel free to call me. I’d love to hear from you.
